Tordrillo Mountain Lodge

Where Comfort and Adventure Meet

Discover a multi-sport luxury lodge located in the heart of the Tordrillo Range near Denali National Park on the banks of the Talachulitna River and Judd Lake.  The lodge is within eye shot of two 11,000-foot volcanoes and Denali, Northern America’s tallest peak at 20,320 feet.  Tordrillo Mountain Lodge is the perfect retreat for a wide range of activities – including remote activities accessible by helicopter – or perhaps even just to find a quiet corner on the deck and take it all in.

Basecamp for Alaskan Adventure

Day 1

Your Adventure Begins in Anchorage

Welcome to Anchorage!  A personal greeting will be provided upon arrival, followed by a private transfer to your hotel, including a brief highlights tour in route.  Depending on your arrival time you may wish to stretch your legs with a walk along Anchorage’s scenic coastal trail before settling into your accommodations for the evening.  Or just relax with a local beer and rest up for tomorrow’s journey into the Alaskan wilderness.

Overnight in Anchorage.

Day 2

Anchorage to Todrillo Mountain Lodge

Breakfast is included at the hotel this morning prior to your private transfer to the Lake Hood Airport.  Meet your pilot and board your private plane for departure to the Todrillo Mountains. Enjoy a scenic 40 minute flight by float plane to Judd Lake and the Tordrillo Mountain Lodge where you will be greeted by staff and receive a brief orientation.  After lunch get out on the water for a chance to catch some fish.  This evening enjoy a gourmet dinner with your lodge hosts and meet your fellow lodge guests – and plan your next adventures!

Spend the next four nights at the luxurious Tordrillo Mountain Lodge.

Day 3

Heli Fishing in Alaska

Enjoy a private day in Alaska’s wilderness fishing from remote and exclusive rivers and streams, accessible only by helicopter. Your pilot and guide will help you find the perfect spot to cast a line.  Depending on the time of your visit, the helicopter can provide access to all five species of Pacific Salmon.  Other species within the region include Rainbow Trout, Arctic Char, and Grayling. Whether you’re an experienced angler or an aspiring novice, your guide will provide all the necessary gear and instruction needed for your successful day on the river.

Day 4

Lakeside Retreat

You don’t have to include a helicopter charter to make the most of your wilderness experience.  Tordrillo Mountain Lodge’s location on the banks of Lake Judd means there are a variety of watersports – perfect for families or visitors who just want to stay a little closer to the lodge.  Take a dip the lake, or explore the shores by canoe, inflatable kayak, or try your hand at stand-up paddleboarding.  If you’re feeling a bit more adventurous, throw in a lodge motorboat and give wakeboarding, wakesurfing, foilboarding, or water skiing a try!  Why not?

Day 5

More Adventure by Helicopter

If you’re intent on a truly unique, active Alaska adventure, you’re in the right place.  In addition to fishing, Tordrillo Mountain Lodge provides a number of other heli adventures including heli sightseeing, heli hiking, and heli rafting.  You can also try your hand at Alaska’s first Via Ferrata.  Accessible only by helicopter, climbers use iron rungs, 1,200 feet of cable, and suspended bridges to scale the course’s 900 vertical feet of climbing.  Not for the faint of heart, this amazing experience rewards climbers with breathtaking views and exclusive bragging rights.

Day 6

Wilderness Retreat and Reflection

Begin your morning with a yoga class before embarking on another day of adventure – perhaps another remote activity by helicopter or some time on the lake.  Rejuvenate from your days’ activities with a personal massage, use of the lodge’s cedar sauna, or even a quick workout in the exercise room.  The lakeside copper hot tub is the perfect way to rest and relax your muscles after a day of activity.  Bring a glass of wine and enjoy the views.

Day 7

Back to Reality

Enjoy one last breakfast at the lodge before returning to Anchorage by bush plane this morning. Your private driver/guide will meet you upon arrival to embark on an Anchorage sightseeing tour – ending at your hotel for the evening, or connect you to your next Alaskan adventure.

They are located conveniently near the yoga/sauna building and are just a stone’s throw from the lodge for meals and the company of lodge staff and other guests.
